BULLOCK, DAVIS, HICKS, JENKINS, NOT, STOVALL posted by Trudie Davis on Tuesday, September 29, 1998

Thomas DAVIS married Elizabeth JENKINS 1809 in Warren Co, NC and moved to property between BULLOCK and STOVALL in Granville Co, NC ca 1842 :
What connection did this family have with the Eagle Tavern in Williamsboro, present day Vance Co. Their son William Davis married Martha HICKS and named a son Robert Alexander Davis. Robert Alexander JENKINS married a HICKS, sister of the afore mentioned Martha HICKS. I saw this information in a book at the Vance co library in Henderson. This Robert Alexander JENKINS also owned a house in Williamsboro, according to the book Zeb's Black Baby. What relationship Hicks/Jenkins/Davis. Two of Thomas's daughters married men named Jenkins: Samuel JENKINS moved to Hays Co, TX along with a Davis brother in law; and James L JENKINS, who bought the original DAVIS Someplace in Granville co, nc moved on to Smith Co, TN. It does not appear there is any relationship between Elizabeth, James or Samuel JENKINS.

Elizabeth is NOT the daughter of Wilson JENKINS of this area. Another son of Thomas DAVIS, Robert Jenkins DAVIS, had a son, Robert Thomas DAVIS, who 'went West' ca 1880 at age 20-nothing was ever heard from him again. Some tax lists before 1850 list Robert Jenkins Davis and William as being in the Williamsboro tax list district, they were young men probably sent to work relatives farms. --
