I am searching for David Tucker, b abt 1754 in Halifax Co, He lived in Bute Co, in the part now known as Warren Co. when he enlisted in the service of the United States, abt 1776. After the war he lived in Duplin Co, until abt 1832, when he moved his family to Bedford Co. Tenn. He married Sylvania ? in 1774 in Duplin Co. This information is from David's Pension Claim.

Looking for information on family of John Edward WOOD. His father was Isaiah Alpheus Wood, married Nannie Jones SMILEY, daughter of John Henry Smiley. I believe Isaiah's father was named Edward, and that Edward's mother was named Nancy. Isaiah was born about 1885. Any information would be appreciated. Also researching Smiley from the same area, as well as RIGGAN.

John TUCKER married mary Elizabeth MURPHY about 1830. They may have settled in Warren County.They had 7 children: Geroge (died in Civil War), John Buxton, Wm. Ellis, James Henry, Allen Strother, Joel Brackston and Isabell. John Buxton Tucker married Mary Alice HARRIS (they are my g-grandparents) in 1866 and htey had 7 children: Teddy, Sonora, John Allen, James Claude (my granfather), Norwood and E. Norman. James Claude married Elba Lura Cooke, whose family had Warren Co. connections. Her parents were Richard Peter Cook(e) and Margaret Mary HAYES. The COOK(E) and HAYES family both have BLACKNALL marriages through a Mary Blacknall and a Betsy Blacknall. My g-grandfather on my dad's maternal side was Thomas Blacknall Cooke who married Virginia FOSTER. The Fosters were originally from Gloucester Co., Va., but settled in NC in Bute Co. and eventually are found in and around Louisburg in Franklin CO. They (Thomas and Virginia) also had 7 children (what is it about that number?): Lutie, Mary Louise, Eugene, Walter, Augustus and Richard Peter. It is my understanding that the Blacknalls were either in Warren or Nash Counties prior to residing in Franklin County. I cannot get confirmation on much ofthis family oral history and am wondering if anyone out there can help.

I would like to know if anyone has 1) any wills or estate papers indicating that Mildred had issue by Twitty; 2) identificaton of Phillip's parents; 3) any vital statistics on the couple. I am especially interested in any connection with William Jones (1723-1804) of Granville County who married Elizabeth Twitty widow of David Gwinn.

Does anyone have information of Betsey Justice b. abt 1796 or Mary M. Justice b. 1803? I believe one (or both)of their fathers was JULIUS JUSTICE. I have where the two female JUSTICE, Mary M. Justice that married John Armstrong Holmes and the other was Betsey Justice that marriedThomas Armstrong Holmes. They are eventually all found in the Robertson County, Tennessee census. But are believed to have been married and raised in Warren County, NC. Any information reguarding JUSTICE or HOLMES would be greatfull. Thank you.. Carolyn

Looking for information on PARTHENIA SHEARIN and her brother THOMAS (who changed the surname to Shearon in later years). They were the children of WILLIAM SEARIN, JR who died in Warren Co about 1803. The mother was ELIZABETH BALTHROP who remarried a RANSOM KIMBELL. In a Warren Co Abstracts of Court proceedings, I find that a WILLIAM BALTHROP in 1806 becomes guardian. Then by 1814, they are in Tn, in the custody of possibly a uncle, THOMAS SHEARIN... and maybe, JARRET SHEARIN (not sure of that last person). Parenthia married a EDWARD PEARSALL while in Tn and as far as I know never returns to NC. I would like to know any of the other family members. I found many (MANY) surnames that were the same but I do not know the relationships of these people to "my" Shearin/Balthrops.
