JAMES, JOHNSON, JOHNSTON, POWELL, PRISCILLIA, SLEDGE, WILLIAMS posted by Becky DOZIER on Thursday, January 1, 1834: Will of James Sledge dated 1834 A Stepney and Sook loaned to Rebecca Sledge, wife, for her wife time. In 1835 James Sledge's will was contested by James P. POWELL and wife PRISCILLIA SLEDGE POWELL. James' will was approved by John WILLIAMS and JAMES JOHNSTON --Note ther relationship fo the POWELLs, WILLIAMs and the JOHNSTONs. Sometimes the name JOHNSON and JOHNSTON were also mixed up. I found this all interesting how the different families were all friends of each other.
